Returning to Fall Guys? You May Not See Your Stuff

by | Last Updated: Jan 9, 2023 | Games | 0 comments

If you plan on returning to Fall Guys, you must do a couple of things to ensure you see your stuff. Otherwise, after logging in after your hiatus, you may quickly notice that you have lost all of your progress.

You must either sign in in a certain order after linking with an Epic Games account or submit a support ticket with Fall Guys Support. Be warned, though, you can only get assistance with switching your profile once.

Read on for more info.

Free Guys Went Free to Play on the Epic Games Store

Free Guys went free to play in June of 2022, starting with season 1. You can check out the free to play announcement here: Fall Guys is going free on the Epic Games Store. An Epic Games account is now required, even if you had previously played on Steam.

Not only is it now free, but it’s also now cross-platform and cross-progression. Neat! I wish more games would do cross-everything.

Returning to Fall Guys After Several Updates

I walk out to the living room to see my woman playing fall guys on the Xbox Series X. I had no idea she was into the game. We took turns going through matches under her profile, seeing who could win it all over the next couple of days.

Then I wanted to show her my progress before the game went free. I originally purchased the game, premium DLC, and earned some rewards from playing those same starting maps quite a bit.

So I signed in to my Xbox profile and then added my Xbox profile to my Epic Games account, which was previously connected to Steam. If you need assistance connecting your game accounts to Epic Games, check out How to link Fall Guys to your Epic Games Account by Fall Guys Support.

Epic Games Account Apps and Accounts Integration

When I got fully signed into my Xbox profile in Fall Guys, I noticed that everything was lost. I thought, “hey, what gives? How can I show off my hotdog man to my lady if my progress is gone? Oh well, maybe the game isn’t ‘really’ cross-progression.” So, we took turns playing a few matches that night and ended up taking home 3 crowns on my profile.

We had a fun night.

The next day, I logged into Steam, and my progress was gone there too! What gives? It would be great to get this progress back.

It turns out that even though I had previously linked Epic Games and Steam before linking Xbox, I didn’t log into Fall Guys after the F2P transition until I signed in on the Xbox. Therefore, since the Xbox was the first platform I signed into, the game thought I had chosen the plain profile of the Xbox as my primary account without asking me to “select” my primary account.

Falls Guys actually has a support article titled I’ve connected my Epic Games Account but I cannot see all my Items / DLC / Purchases / Kudos or Crowns. You can check out the support article to confirm this.

There was nothing else left to do but submit a support ticket.

Submitting a Ticket With Fall Guys Support

I submitted a ticket with Fall Guys Support for a primary account transfer to Steam to get my items back. They actually have a section for switching profiles to make the ticket submission nice and easy.

I stated that I had items, progress, and currency that I wanted to get from my early adoption of the game. Steam was my first profile, but the Xbox was my first login post F2P transition. I then asked if I could get my primary profile to return to Steam and to get the recent progress made on my Xbox (secondary profile) so I wouldn’t lose anything.

I got the reply very fast! It looks like the Steam profile transfer would be a piece of cake, but the progress made on the Xbox was a no go.

Hello,

You’ve indicated on your ticket that you want to switch your primary profile.

We can only switch your Fall Guys profile once. This means if you choose to have your original Steam/PlayStation progress and we switch this, we can never switch back to your current progress – it’ll be gone forever!

Remember that Show-Bucks and Kudos cannot be transferred, but any Items you have on your current profile e.g. Switch will get transferred if you don’t have them on your original profile.

Before we can change your profile, you will need to let us know that you have read and understood the following:

  • You confirm that you have chosen to migrate your progress and forfeit any progress from your current/new profile.
  • This change can only happen once, and you will not be able to go back to your progress on your current/new profile.
  • Only your Items (Costumes, Patterns, Emotes and Interface items) can be transferred as part of this migration.
  • Kudos and Show-Bucks cannot be merged. Any earnt Currency will be permanently lost on your current/new profile.
  • Any Season Pass and Challenges progress will be lost.

If you are happy to proceed with migrating your profile from your current progress to your original Steam/PlayStation progress, please reply to this email saying: “[Yes I would like to proceed with migration]”.

If you would instead like to only transfer your items (Costumes, Patterns, Emotes and Interface items) please reply with “[Migrate only my items]”

We look forward to hearing from you!

I replied that I would like to migrate to my original Steam/PlayStation progress. I would only lose a few crowns and a little bit of progress. No problem, we didn’t get that far, but we got to hang out for a night. That’s still a win.

Shortly after that, I got a reply to my confirmation.

Hello,

Thanks for your patience! We’re happy to let you know your profile switch has been completed. You’ll see your updated profile when you next log in to Fall Guys.

This ticket has now be closed, however if you have any other questions or we didn’t solve your issue fully, please visit our Help center and https://support.fallguys.com to submit a new request.

See you in the game!

I got my original profile back in about 2 hours, including the ticket submission and the back and forth emails for confirmation. It was extremely fast and smooth, so I expect there was some automation taking charge here.

There was a sync, notifications of previous items to be claimed, and Kudos currency pool and conversion. No crowns, though, as expected.

I was able to show off my hotdog to my very special lady, and yes, she was very impressed.

Good luck, and have fun!
