How to Find Your Steam ID

You can easily find your Steam ID in the Steam application.

  1. Open Steam and log in if you are not already.
  2. Click on your name at the top right of the screen and select view profile.
  3. Copy the long string of numbers in that URL.

This long string of numbers is your Steam ID. If you have already created a custom URL, the number may not be as easy to find.

What Is a SteamID?

Your SteamID is a unique identifier for your Steam account. This is used for administrative purposes for Valve, Steam community admins, game server admins, and code developers.

A regular Steam ID can be converted to more modern formats to help find users and administer accordingly.

SteamID2

A SteamID, also known as SteamID2, looks like STEAM_0:X:XXXXXX.

SteamID3

A SteamID3 looks like [U:1:XXXXX].

SteamID3n

A SteamID3n looks like U:1:XXXXX. It’s just a SteamID3 with no brackets. This is mostly for quick glances and easy copying.

SteamID64

Steam ID 64-bit is a unique user ID for your Steam account. Each user gets a unique ID after registering on Steam.

The properties differ from a normal nickname since this type of ID consists only of numbers and cannot be changed by the user. If you want a new SteamID64, you will need to create another account.

A Steam64ID looks like 7656119XXXXXXXXXX.

Steam Profile URL

The Steam Profile URL uses SteamID64 after the profile slug.

A Steam64ID profile link looks like http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656119XXXXXXXXXX.
